How did you get into the tiling industry?

I was made redundant from my job, and found a skill that I enjoyed.

What do you like most about your job?

Taking clients’ visions and making them a reality! I also enjoy helping other tilers and especially people who are new to the trade.

Why did you become a member of The Tile Association?

To further my knowledge and skill.

What region do you work in?

South Wales.

What types of installations do you provide?

All types: mosaics, porcelain, ceramic, natural stone, large format and XL format.

What changes have you experienced since becoming a Master Tile Fixer?

I find that more people/other trades value my advice more.

What is the most valuable lesson you have learnt on the job?

To always be honest with your client, and give them as much information as possible about their project so that they can make a better informed decision. Even down to what type of tile and grout colour!

What is the best advice you have been told or would like to share for anyone entering the industry?

Always clean up behind yourself, be punctual and be courteous.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Support my son who is representing Wales in the world championships for kickboxing this year. In my spare time I like to practise and train in target shooting as well as precision shooting.
